After making the decision to wear wigs, you might start to feel a little like you have to wear them straight down in the style they come and never venture away from that. While there’s no question that one of the joys of using synthetic wigs is the fact that there is no styling time required and instead, you can simply put that wig on and go – and have better looking hair than most women out there, don’t let this deter you from playing with your wigs.
The fact is, you can just as easily in most cases create gorgeous styles with your wigs as you can with real hair if you put a little creativity into it. Yes, you will have to deal with the cap and take a few extra measures to ensure the rims of the cap don’t show, but beyond that, there are plenty of great options you can do. And, what’s great is most of the general population would never expect a wig to be styled as such, so it’s a great way to fool even the most observant of individual.
Here are a few fun styling ideas.
Low Ponytail With A Hair Wrap
The low ponytail is one of the easiest styles to create with your wig as this hides the nape of the cap very well and is exceptionally simple to do. Just pull the hair back, secure it with an elastic and you’re done. To make it even more elegant, try wrapping a small piece of hair from that ponytail around the elastic and securing it with a small bobbypin or tucking it right into the elastic itself.
This will hide the elastic and create a look that won’t go unnoticed.
High Ponytail With A Loose Nape
If you’re more of a high ponytail type of woman, you can certainly do that as well. Using a looser nape is an excellent way to disguise the rim of the wig cap and make it look more natural. This will mimic that of a messy updo – which is a very common way that many women wear their ponytails these days.
Simply pull the hair into a higher ponytail, loosening the bits at the sides slightly and then pulling the nape hairs out a bit. You may want a few pieces to come right out of the ponytail for a look of realism, but otherwise, here should just be a nice bubble sort of feel right under the ponytail. This gives you that messy look to complete the style.
Twisted Updo With Tendrils
Few things are as sophisticated as a twisted updo with a few loose tendrils framing your face. This works excellent with a curlier wig, so definitely do try this next time you purchase one. Simply twist the bulk of the hair at the back up and then secure it with a claw clip.
From there, pull out a few hairs around the face and let them curl around the jawline. In seconds, you have a look that will have you ready for any fancy dinner date.
Finally, a half up style is another great option that’s easy to do and will keep the hair out of your face. Simply take both sides of the hair and clip it back behind the head, possibly pulling out a few face framing layers as well. This will also help to disguise the ear tabs very well.
So there you have a closer look at some of the creative ways to style your wigs. Don’t ever fear playing with your wigs – that’s half the fun of owning them.
